In 2012, the Ministry of Communications of China established the Beipanjiang Bridge (Beipanjiang First Bridge) scientific research project, Guizhou Expressway Group Co., Ltd. cooperated with China Communications Highway Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd., Southwest Jiaotong University, Guizhou Provincial Highway Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and CCCC Second Navigation Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. jointly undertakes the construction project for the western region.
In 2013, the first bridge of Beipanjiang started construction and was jointly built by Yun and Guizhou.
On December 29, 2016, the first bridge of Beipanjiang was completed and opened to traffic.
In 2017, the “Key Technology Research on Construction and Maintenance Management of Longpan Steel Truss Girder Cable-stayed Bridge” passed the acceptance test.
