Lanxin Railway

Essential information£º

Lanxin High-speed Railway, also known as Lanxin Railway, is a high-speed railway connecting Lanzhou City of Gansu Province and Urumqi City of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is the longest one-time high-speed railway in the world. It is also a key project of China's "Medium and Long-term Railway Network Planning". It is an important part of the railway passage of the Eurasian Continental Bridge. Lanxin High-speed Railway was approved by the State Council of China in June 2009, and started construction on November 4, 2009. On June 3, 2014, Xinjiang Section entered the joint commissioning stage. On September 1, 2014, Gansu-Qinghai Section entered the joint commissioning stage; on November 16, 2014, the southern part of Urumqi to Hami Section opened for operation; and on December 26, 2014, the whole line opened for operation. Lanzhou West Railway Station to Urumqi Railway Station is a high-speed railway with a total length of 1775.779 km and 22 stations. The designed maximum speed is 250 km/h. As of December 2014, the operation speed of Lanxin High-speed Railway was 200 km/h. On April 28, 2017, the number of passengers sent by stations in Xinjiang section of Lanxin High-speed Railway reached 10,078 per day, exceeding 10,000 for the first time.

Technical difficulties£º

Passage wind area: The Xinjiang section of Lanxin High Speed Railway passes through four windy areas. Among them, the "hundred mile wind zone" and "thirty mile wind zone" have the strongest wind, with the maximum speed of 60 meters per second in some sections, which is equivalent to the seventeenth class wind. For this reason, the railway construction department has constructed reinforced concrete windshield in Gobi section. In 124 bridge sections, the windshield consisting of H-shaped steel columns of different sizes and corrugated steel plates with openings has been installed. A 1.2 kilometer long windshield tunnel has been assembled on the roadbed in the core area of Baili wind zone with the strongest wind force. The application of these windproof engineering and technology ensures the safety of train operation.

Key projects£º

Xiaoxia Huangshui River Bridge The Xiaoxia Huangshui River Bridge is designed as a double-track bridge with a total length of 1135.05 meters. It is the key control project of Lanxin High-speed Railway. The key and difficult point of the bridge is the construction of triple continuous beams, which span 109 National Highway, Huangshui River, Lanxi Expressway and Lanzhou-Qinghai Railway respectively. It is one of the most special bridges in Lanzhou-Xinhua High-speed Railway. Xinjiang Hami Interchange Bridge: Xinjiang Hami Interchange Bridge is a key control project of Lanxin High-speed Railway. Its total length is 19.287 kilometers. It has 584 holes. It is the longest span bridge in Lanxin High-speed Railway construction. On November 14, 2011, the 100-meter-span continuous beam of Xinjiang Hami Interchange Bridge on Lanxin High-speed Railway was poured and successfully closed. Qilian Mountain Tunnel 2: Qilian Mountain Tunnel 2 is located in the Qilian Mountains 60 kilometers west of Menyuan County, Qinghai Province. The two ends of the tunnel connect Qinghai and Gansu provinces respectively. The tunnel is 9.49 kilometers in length, 4345 meters in altitude, 800 meters in depth and 160 square meters in excavation section. As of October 2014, it is the highest elevation, the highest construction standard and the most difficult construction of high-speed railway tunnel in the world. It belongs to Class I high-risk tunnel. On Jan. 28, 2014, Qilian Mountain Tunnel No. 2 runs through the whole line. Dabanshan Tunnel: Dabanshan Tunnel is 15918 meters long, located in Datong County and Menyuan County, Qinghai Province. It is the longest highway high-speed railway tunnel in the world, with an altitude of 3000 to 4200 meters.

Honor recognition

On November 10, 2017, the 2# super bridge of Xidian Village, Lanxin High-speed Railway, constructed by Mechanization Company of China Railway Five Bureau, was selected as the National Quality Engineering Award of China from 2016 to 2017.

Value Significance:

Lanxin High-speed Railway is closely connected with existing Lanxin Railway, Longhai Railway, Baolan Railway and other railways, forming a Western Railway transport network with a wider radiation range and a larger service population. The construction and operation of Lanxin High-speed Railway has greatly enhanced the railway transport capacity of China, Central Asia and Europe, which is conducive to improving China's opening pattern to the West and laying a solid foundation for the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt. Lanxin High-speed Railway is conducive to optimizing the allocation of production factors and resources, improving the economic cohesion and radiation of Xinjiang, forming the core area of the Silk Road and taking the lead in the regional cooperation between Asia and Europe. Lanxin High-speed Railway will also contribute to the accumulation of talents, logistics and capital, and promote the development of cities along the Railway line. At the same time, it also injects strong impetus into Xinjiang's tourism.
